About St Athanasius Byzantine Church

St Athanasius Byzantine Church operates an active Knights of Columbus chapter that serves as a cornerstone of its parish life and community outreach. The Knights organize charitable initiatives, social events, and fraternal activities that connect members across generations and strengthen bonds within the congregation. This organization reflects the church's commitment to living out its faith through service and fellowship beyond Sunday worship. The parish offers Mass times for its Byzantine Catholic community and maintains several formation programs for both children and adults. The CCD/Religious Education program provides catechesis for young parishioners, while the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) welcomes those exploring the Catholic faith. A dedicated Youth Ministry program engages younger members in spiritual growth and community building. These programs work together to support faith development across all ages within the parish. Located at 1117 Blaine Ave in Indianapolis, Indiana, St Athanasius Byzantine Church provides accessible facilities for all parishioners, including wheelchair accessibility and ample parking. The church features air conditioning for comfort during services and offers a live stream option for those unable to attend in person. A nursery is available for families with young children, and Coffee & Fellowship gatherings after Mass provide opportunities for parishioners to connect. Those seeking more information about service times and programs can visit the church's website at sainty.com/contact-us/ or contact the parish directly.

About Catholic Churches

The Catholic Church is the world's oldest and largest Christian institution, tracing its leadership through an unbroken line of popes back to the Apostle Peter. The Mass — the central act of Catholic worship — follows a liturgical calendar and culminates in the Eucharist, which Catholics believe is the real presence of Christ. Catholic life is shaped by seven sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. Parishes typically offer multiple Sunday Masses, daily Mass, confession hours, and robust faith formation programs. The Church's social teaching on human dignity, care for the poor, and the common good is expressed through extensive charitable and educational ministries worldwide.

I went to this church a couple of months ago. Being Roman Catholic, it was different BUT it was a wonderful experience. This little church, full of tradition, received me and made me feel welcomed.
